Laura recently landed in the beautiful Comox Valley after spending 10 years in Vancouver, following a move from her hometown of Montreal. She holds a master’s degree in psychiatric research and spent several years working on research projects within psychiatric hospitals. At the tender age of 38, she decided to make a meaningful career change and pursue massage therapy, driven by a desire to step away from desk work and experience the more tangible, hands-on impact of helping others.
An active and outdoors-oriented person herself, Laura understands the frustration and challenges that come with injury and being unable to participate in the activities we love. She is passionate about supporting clients through recovery from sports injuries and has experience working with individuals dealing with low back pain, osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, TMJ issues and tension headaches. She is also trained in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), using stainless steel tools to improve tissue mobility.
Laura also values the restorative side of massage therapy and is happy to provide deeply relaxing treatments when that is what her clients need. She believes that time spent on the massage table should feel supportive, restorative, and entirely focused on the individual receiving care.
Outside of the clinic, Laura can usually be found mountain biking, skiing in the mountains, cooking, or reading a good book with her dog, Lucy, nearby.
